Every Child Deserves a Place to Call Home
- In Central Texas, too many children are growing up without the safety and stability of a home. In the Austin Independent School District alone, more than 2,500 students—part of over 1,100 families—are living in cars, motels, or temporarily doubling up with relatives (Source: SchoolHouse Connection).
- 83% of unhoused kids have experienced violence, and without support, they’re far more likely to face homelessness again as adults (Source: Sunrise Homeless Navigation Center).
- But we can change that—together.
- That’s why I Live Here I Give Here, in partnership with the City of Austin and local nonprofits, is launching Amplify Home—a day of giving dedicated to helping children and families find stability, safety, and hope.
- Sometimes, the path to home is just one bill or deposit away.
- On average, $1,200 can help one family secure stable housing—covering a deposit, first month’s rent, or a past-due utility bill that stands in the way of a new beginning.
- Join us on October 21 to help every child in Central Texas have a safe place to call home.
